Ibn ʿAbbās رضي الله عنهما reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Allah has cursed those men who imitate women and those women who imitate men.” Narrated by al-Bukhārī. Explanation: This refers to deliberately adopting characteristics that are distinctive to the opposite sex, such as their clothing, appearance, mannerisms, or other practices that are specifically recognized as belonging to them. It does not mean that every similarity between men and women is prohibited; rather, the warning concerns intentional imitation in matters that are distinctive to the opposite sex.
