The eye tests at school are rubbish honestly. It’s not a proper eye test it’s a differnt type of test not what they’d have at the opticians. My eldest has had glasses since last year for reading writing ect and now has to wear them full time as she has myopia, she also has an astigmatism and so do I😅 love her new glasses! X

Specsavers picked up that my little one had a cataract on one of her eyes during a routine eye test. They are so good with kids there.

The same happened to my 7 year she also had to have eye drops and now wears glasses full time but school eye test said was fine

I took my 6 year old for her first eye test last year, she had never complained about her eyes and had no issues at school but it turned out she needed glasses all the time also and has also been on patches for 6 months now. She has her hospital appointment next month to see if she needs them for longer 😊 xx

Clearly these people who come into schools don’t know what they’re doing. Why on earth would you test a child and say they are fine but then an optician says they need glasses. Just do the job properly the first time.

Exactly the same for my 4 year old last week. Routine eye test and we’ve walked away with a prescription for glasses for astigmatism and long sightedness! A complete shock but he looks ever so beautiful in his glasses. A sign to definitely get that appointment booked 🤓 x

don’t worry about the terms “astigmatism” it’s one of the most common things ever and it just means your eyes are slightly more rugby ball shaped and the light bends differently around her eyes, there’s nothing to worry about. it sounds scary but it’s something pretty much everyone has. take it from a girly who works for specsavers :) she looks like she was well looked after tho! love this! 🩷
