He wasn’t better than Eddie Jones though at the time, the lakers had a squad, and they added Shaq that same offseason. They’re trying to contend, nurturing and letting a 18 year old rookie come in and make his mistakes was not really in the cards, we seen him versus the Jazz. Them first 2 years off the bench did him a good thing. The difference between him and the rookies he named was that they were on trash teams. AI’s Sixers were never a real deal threat, they just played in the post-Jordan east, east was very weak. Shareef played in Vancouver, they always sucked. Camby played for Toronto before Vince Carter, they sucked, Ray Allen and Marbury teams were ight, but it just wasn’t reasonable for a rookie to come in and get minutes in the rotation when the lakers already had all star guards

This is the thing…. Kobe was contrived. He wasn’t a dog. He was ultra talented but he was a punk. The mamba mentality is more about being self centered…. That Colorado stuff, him wanting to leave LA etc etc…. Clown of a person. BUT I respect the hell out of him as a retired father…. I was very happy to see that image and role model….
