I think sometimes we make tawakkul sound like reaching a point where you genuinely don't care what happens anymore. Like if I really trusted Allah, I wouldn't overthink it. I wouldn't wonder if it's going to happen. I wouldn't have moments where I want to jump in and figure out what I can do to make the outcome more likely. But I'm realizing that's not really what my experience of tawakkul has looked like. I can trust Allah and still be uncomfortable with uncertainty. I can make the dua and still have my brain immediately start trying to solve it. I can genuinely believe Allah knows what's best and still catch myself trying to control the how, the when, and the what-if. The difference I'm learning is that I don't have to turn those moments into things that show me I'm failing at trust. I can notice myself gripping and come back to what is actually mine to do. Then I can leave the part I cannot control with Allah again. Each time to do, I get better at noticing when I have. I think that's a practice I'll be learning for a very long time. 🤍 #tawakkul #islam #revert #muslim #faith
