my dad left when I was 2 years old and im now 42. I didnt realize I had issues thay led back to that until this year, but how do you heal from someone that you dgaf about?

You are absolutely correct, problem is that many of them don't want to acknowledge and heal that trauma so they move around with those wounds and inflicting pain on others.
