@interestingengineering: A humanoid robot called Tiangong Ultra ran 100 metres in 9.39 seconds at the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, going under Usain Bolt's 9.58 second world record from 2009. Honor's robot Lightning clocked 9.47 in the same event, and the winning time at last year's games was 21.50 seconds. Neither machine could stop cleanly after the line, and this is not a World Athletics record.

They’re saying a machine can run faster than a human? Cars have been doing that for over a century. Bicycles before that. Why does anyone think this is special?
