Parents, you need to learn to say NO to your children from the very beginning. You shouldn’t buy them everything they want, simply because one day, it can become very difficult to manage. At school, a friend has the latest iPhone, expensive Nike shoes, or something else that costs a lot of money… and your son or daughter will naturally say, “I want the same thing!” But if you can’t afford it, you have to teach them that you can’t have everything you want in life. You can dream, you can have ambitions and desires, but you also need to learn patience, the value of money, and most importantly, the value of earning what you have. There are even parents who pay for their children’s driving licence and buy them a car before they’ve even started working. Why not teach them to work, save their own money, pay for their licence, and eventually buy their first car themselves? Saying NO to your children doesn’t mean you don’t love them. Quite the opposite—it means you’re preparing them for real life. Because the day Mom and Dad are no longer there to pay for every little thing they want, reality will hit them… and unfortunately, reality doesn’t give out free passes. 😉 Loving your children doesn’t mean giving them everything they ask for. It also means teaching them how to stand on their own two feet. 💪
