I definitely have come to realize God is not as concerned about where I work as long as I am doing the work honoring God. I do personally feel that lots of things came together for my wife and I to meet at the perfect time and that I have never met anyone that was more perfect for me. Did He plan for us to meet? I don't know but you would be hard pressed to convince me He didn't.

This view of God’s plan I see as a symptom of such an American view of the Gospel; very “me”, “I”, “us” centered. Does God care, plan, allow, even orchestrate details of our lives that would work to show the world more of His Glory, His Goodness? I think so. But the “plan” or “point” of all the details of our lives is that we become more Christlike and go forth sharing the HOPE in Him! Details of life are the vehicle that move us along the path to sanctification and God’s ultimate plan to reveal His glory to all.

So why bring desires to Him to fulfill? Further, why would He allow desires (and I mean desires that are good, such as desiring love/romance, good career, better health, etc.) to form in our heart and mind if He has no intention of ever fulfilling them?

What do we do with natural animal suffering ? Are animals being made more like Jesus? Does he have a plan for them? God declares animal’s as good, but they suffer senselessly as they cannot live and suffer and see god as humans can, but gods ultimate will seems to be that suffering ends? Also, if we consider evolution as truth, or even if we don’t, what was/is the point of all that suffering? Just so we can have dominion over them and enact the desire of God to care for them?

Ok, I’m going to try to clarify again because I’m not getting this thought out clearly. God’s plan for our lives is for our continued sanctification, for His ultimate glory and to use us to further His kingdom. Yes. Absolutely. But He still has a plan. He still guides our steps. He still goes before us and makes a way. We can pray for that guidance. We SHOULD pray for that. And I believe that includes praying about if, and when you should marry someone and yes, WHO that someone is.
