So how many providers did he go to to get help before? What hormonal changes caused his post partum psychosis? It IS different.

he woke up that morning. told his mom he had "confusing feelings". went to a doc for supposedly the first time.and then killed his family later that day. however lindsay spent months begging for health. she told the hospital she had thoughts of harming her kids. thats why they told patrick not to leave her alone with the children. there was an active trail of attempted mental help. for him the motive is still unclear other than him saying it was "for god". So yeah that doesnt look good for him. 1 day vs months of trying to get active help.

He may have been mentally ill, but there was no real dispute over who killed his family. The Clancy case is different because Lindsay was actively seeking help, and there are still serious questions surrounding her mental state and what happened that night.
