In truth, John is beung set up to infiltrate the Green Lantern Corps as a sleeper agent. The reason why he can't use the ring correctly and why Hal is being such a jerk has already been revealed, but nobody had caught it yet.

I feel like the show intentionally under sells that feat except for one line where jon says the guy claims what hes doing is impossible. but like that bird doesnt seem to be just a construct. it seems like an actual bird. as in life.

I noticed the bird trying to stop the guys from showing him the visions and as he calmed down the bird stopped trying to peck them , this show has been an amazing experience so far and as a super hero fan im so glad dc did right by this show so far
