They keep bringing up religion because they know there are likely Catholics in the jury and they are trying to evoke emotion with their faith so they vote guilty. Because they are implying if you are devout in your faith then there is no option but to find her guilty. It’s manipulation of the jury and honestly the judge should have granted the mistrial. You can tell the jury to disregard, but they can’t forget what was said and the emotional manipulation.

It got denied but it preserves the issue for appeal. It's on the record that a mistrial was requested, for what reason, and the judges denial. It leaves room for overturning the conviction. also, this forced the judge to address the jury about the prosecutions witness being inappropriate in their testimony. ...now it really matters how Reddington moves foward with this witness.
