if i still call myself a sinner, i'm denying what happened on that cross. that's not humility. that's unbelief. humility says i was a sinner. unbelief says i still am. and there's a difference. the cross didn't just cover my sin. it dealt with it, completely, once, for all of it. and when Jesus said it is finished, He meant every part of it. so when i walk around still identifying as a sinner after what He did, i'm not being honest about my past. i'm being dishonest about His work. the Bible doesn't call believers sinners saved by grace and leave it there. it calls us new creatures. righteous. redeemed. the righteousness of God in Christ. that's not arrogance, that's just taking God at His Word. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." the righteousness of God. that's your identity now. not your past, not your failures, not the worst version of who you were. what Christ made you. stop agreeing with the enemy about who you are. start agreeing with God. i have to believe what God's Word says above how i feel, above the judgment of others, above what my past says i deserve. His Word is the final say. not my feelings, not their opinion.
