This is exactly why I do not share much information with my employees. There is a saying that building a business is a lot like jumping off a cliff and building a plane on the way down. If you give them too much information, they will build that plane on your dime and one day just fly off. I’ve had a few go on their own and pretty much fall flat on their face. I keep every single thing that I can private including suppliers and any marketing ideas. I don’t bounce much off of them anymore. It’s a free country and they have the right to do whatever they want, but I’m not going help them become my competition. They’ve got to start out just like I did. Finding out what works and doesn’t costs money. There’s no way I will hand over a playbook of my business to any employee if I can help it.

I think what may have happened is you stepped aside from the business. they saw they did everything and where the poc of your business. I feel as business owners we shouldnt micro manage but let them not forget who you are. im not saying come in the office yelling orders but just establish that if you give them leeway its only as far as you say it is. dont let them get out of hand

I'm sure you treated everyone great. Managing people has definitely been the hardest struggle for me. People will act like, you owe them the world when in reality, you are just paying them to do their job and a half fast job at that. They always think they can do it better. They don't see everything that goes into it.

Omg I’m so sorry it’s happened to you. But I believe it’s also made us so stronger. My employees did that to me. And I literally cried for 4 days and stay in my basement. Because I was so shamed to trust them. It was pure betrayal. I’m all about supporting and want them to do really good but same time don’t steal from me.
