@bobbyparrish: There's a potential loophole in the UC Davis avocado oil study that nobody's talking about. I know a lot of you have been asking why I haven't posted a video on this yet like everyone else. Here's why: I've seen way too much fake news and fearmongering the last couple years, and so much of it goes after "better for you" brands and turns out to be completely false. So before jumping on the bandwagon, I wanted to actually do research and talk to brands directly. Here's what I found: the study uses a newly-formed standard (Codex) to determine purity. But Codex only applies to certain avocado species. If a brand's oil comes from avocados outside that narrow genetic window, it automatically "fails." Even if it's 100% real, pure avocado oil. The test can't tell you what it's supposedly cut with. Only that it doesn't match their criteria. Case in point: Primal Kitchen uses Codex-compliant oil for their cooking oil, but a different (fully traced, Eurofin certified 100% real) avocado variety for their mayo and condiments. That's not a brand lying to you. That's a test that wasn't built for how diverse avocados actually are. Don’t you find it odd that they found 48 of 54 avocado oil products to be fake, but only 1 out of 20 olive oil products to be fake? It doesn’t make sense that brands would only be cheating with avocado oil and not olive oil. To make matters more complex, olive oil has 40+ years of international standardization but the avocado oil standard was developed in 2024 by UC Davis that has acknowledged gaps, and no one outside of UC Davis has accepted their standard for what pure avocado oil is. I'm still waiting on more info from Primal, Chosen Foods, Siete, Jackson's and Boulder. So, what do you think? If you’ve done research and have info you think I need to see, drop it in the comments! #avocadooil #avocado #healthyliving #realfood #ucdavis

As someone w/ food reactions, migraines don’t lie. I started getting migraines from the Boulder Canyon chips when BJs & Costco started selling them. I don’t get a migraine from the clean brands.

Why wouldn’t these companies immediately make a statement disputing UC Davis’ claims if they were false or other criteria was being used?

I find it odd in troubling that when I reached out to some of these companies directly, they didn’t respond.

I think they should prove their products are 100% what they claim. If the oils aren’t pure they need to state it on the label. Thanks for doing a deeper dive!
