there's a certain degree of women who act kinda like 'flying monkeys' (people who act on behalf of a narcissist or abuser to spread gossip, gather information, or manipulate a target) in the toxic masc game too and I think that really throws men off even more cuz then the attacks are coming from what feels like all sides, especially if its a mother figure.

Toxic masculinity isn’t saying masculinity itself is toxic. It’s about the harmful expectations placed on men about how they’re “supposed” to behave..suppress emotion, never show vulnerability, always be dominant, aggressive, sexually successful, financially powerful and constantly prove their worth. And a lot of that policing comes from other men. Women generally aren’t demanding that men never cry, never ask for help, dominate every room or constantly prove how tough they are. Men often enforce those standards on each other, then assume women must want the performance. That’s the point: toxic masculinity can harm men too.
