currently non union in arizona, i’m a first year apprentice and have about 1500 hours. if i were to join local 640 will i be on the books for a long time? and would i start my apprenticeship over or these hours will count towards otj hours

I’m working at a job outside Chicago that is 90% non union. They are all from Poland and Ukraine. The only ones speaking English are the union guys

People I work with on the non union side can read and write. In the union I had guys who couldn’t sign their own name on shit. Guys that got passed through class because they could weld. Everything is done for them but the weld. They are dumb as fuck can’t read but can weld. That’s union.

You guys need to fire your script writers. The whole " Lets call people names until they join a union, campaign isnt working. The pace of non union "trade" labor growth has outpaced union trade labor growth by a long shot over the past decade. In fact, its not even close. People have heard the message and it's not well recieved or union trade labor growth would be outpacing non union. When talking about CEO pay, bootlickers, etc... What percentage of old Kenny Coopers annual salary does the average IBEW member make? How does that percentage compare to the average employee / CEO pay ratio in private small non union trade companies? I think you'd be surprised. But then again, could be just a bunch of people in the same sinking boat. Either way, I dont have a dog in the fight but id say theres a pretty straight line that could be drawn between being outpaced by non union growth and organized messaging to the masses. But, what do I know, Im just a high school welding instructor. Offer still stands to come on the podcast. Im no anti union guy by any means, majority of my family were and are organized trade labor. Im not gonna bombard you with garbage talking points. Im here to promote my guests in a positive light and get your message out but I am a pretty curious guy and do ask questions for clarification from time to time.😁 Keep hustling!
