I don’t have the correct authority, but there’s a saying other people’s rizk is sometimes included in yours. You paying salary, giving tips, or giving sadaqa are other people’s rizk using you as a medium

I understand your point, and I agree that those who work hard should get a tip…but tipping culture has gone way outta hand. It’s been shifted from being a voluntary way of expressing gratitude into an “expected” surcharge, which tbh is driven by guilt. This shift in culture puts both sides in an unfair position, and though Islam encourages generosity, it also emphasizes justice (which is where the employers are failing and creating a system of social pressure). And because of that shift, I’ve seen people do less than the bare minimum and still expect a tip, which is where I can understand the frustration around tipping culture nowadays too
