Back when the west was Minnesota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, etc, states like Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin were part way west, so "mid" way.

I agree with this but Chicago is the exception. People from all over the world travel to Chicago for our museums, architecture, food, concerts, etc. It’s not fair we get grouped in with places like Oconomowoc Wisconsin, or Attica Indiana. (I’ve spent time in both and it’s a hellscape)

From Indiana and I agree, aside from roundabouts. Carmel IN has the most roundabouts of any city in the country I believe 🤣🤣🤣

that's why Minnesota is defensive, I'll drive 10 hours over a airport or hotel and beast it back. the only roundabout I know of is south of my town, the minute it was open,a semi took the high road and took the middle and wrecked cause there's a huge dirt mound in the middle with trees 😅 the nearest kwik trip is 3 hours away😂

It is called the mid-west because during the westward expansion the people for the original colonies were "halfway" to the west. Thus they were in the midwest.

I’m from WI. Completely agree with all the driving to avoid hotels. We love our KTs! Roundabouts are easy though!
