@kathryn.tatess: When trying to do something big or difficult, people often “know” it’s the right choice but still can’t get themselves to begin. Our brains don’t just act based on logic. They anticipate the future - including the struggles, emotions, and discomfort that could come with taking action. And if your brain predicts that the journey will make you miserable, that you’ll be judged or you won’t be able to handle struggling or poor performance, it’s going to create resistance to starting. The key is to make the journey feel more sustainable: - Where can I build in joy? - How will I get through the difficult parts? - What can I do to make this more doable? You’re showing your brain the journey is something you can handle, which lowers resistance to starting.
WOW that video is a nothingburger... like, why not tell it just now in this video since you're already on it?? Making this video basically just an ad for an upcoming video is mean... and since it is a medical context, I even find it a bit cruel because why do you have to "advertise" medical help?

The thing that changed my life was telling myself and accepting that if it’s right for me, I have to do it. My life has been amazing since

I love to play guitar, write songs and always feel good afterwards but l just can't get myself to do it even the fraction of how much l want to do it. There is literally 3 guitars right now next to me and l just settle to imagine how fun it would be to play 🥹

i dont know how to say this more respectfully sooo does that mean "stupid" ppl have it easier in achieving their goals? like less logic u have on daily basis the more likely you are to actually do it ?

as an overly self aware person it is so difficult for me to do things that I know well I have to do. but I am also aware of the why.
growing I up I was constantly let down for expecting my parents keeping their promise. they promised me if I achieve something I can get rewards, but they did not give me anything. happened too often that my brain learn that working on something would not take me anywhere. BUT at the same time I am chronically ambitious, which also rooted in childhood wound that still hoping that if I work hard enough and achieve more, I might eventually be appreciated, which I am totally aware that it is just a wishful thinking.
I look like a crazy ambitious lazy person, very chaotic.
it is either I am overly obsessed that I work 24/7 for weeks a day or do nothing at all

I'm really stuck on this right now. After a string of things that felt safe turning out not to be (job layoffs, friends abandoning, broken promises) now it doesn't feel safe to do anything — even the stuff I want to do or know would be good for me. I know this intellectually, but I don't know how to get past it emotionally.

how is it called when you know what you have to do , then imagine the "path" the "struggle" and somehow your brain thinks yeah that sounds awesome and rewarding, let's assume you already did it , and proceed to not change anything
