He would say awful things to me in public while laughing and saying "it's a joke". Only one person called him out in 13 years. His friends even looked at me with sadness but would never call him out. "He's just a jokester. He has a dark sense of humor" Those "jokes" were horrific attacks that went on for hours at home to keep me awake for days on end.

Spot on. He would wallpaper neighbours walls for free, he would go to the shops for anyone who asked, run any errand ever asked from someone outside the flat. But me asking him to not be nasty to me? Oh all of sudden it’s too much and I’m selfish for asking 😂

Both of my parents were like this. My father was the friendliest family man out in public but a selfish narcissist at home. My mother was an “organised neat freak protective mumma bear” in public, but a lazy erratic short tempered psycho at home.

Everyone thought my stalker was the best spouse ever publicly. Nobody believed how bad he was until I showed one person a videotape of his behavior and I was helped immediately. I normalized the situation when it was sad 😔 and abusive
