Tracking paths and telemetry appear on screen as the system monitors activity around the coast. The flat-panel radar rotates on a motorized base to scan different directions and detect targets within its coverage area. Radar measurements can provide information such as range and direction, while a linked optical camera can be directed toward tracked positions to provide a visual view of selected targets. Portable radar systems bring capabilities normally associated with permanent installations into equipment that can be deployed in the field. Depending on their design, systems like these can support coastal monitoring, perimeter surveillance, infrastructure protection, and other applications requiring mobile situational awareness.
