i feel the exact same way. i’ve always viewed religion as the same as greek mythology or any other cultural myths. nothing more than man made stories. i tried forcing myself to believe too, but i always come back to the conclusion that religion exists for human comfort and community, but nothing beyond that.

religion is human made in the same sense that mathmatics are human made, we make the language and terminology, but the concept itself is an attempt to describe reality, similar to the concept of science. we have faith in our ability to be rational beings in sense above nature that we should measure it, in the same way in religion we have faith in a higher power that is the origin of reality, and theology is our attempts to describe the origin of reality, using philosophy and if you believe in it, revelation.
