I knew a couple, high school sweethearts types, literally cookie-cutter made for each other. Except when I knew them they had came back together later in life, and in the in-between she’d had a partner who cheated on her and done “the damage” to her. As a complete outsider (and I was very young and naive) it was such a weird flavour to see this girl, this woman, so naturally distrustful of the guy who was literally made for her.
