@chriscerney: The Monterey County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to consider a 10-year Flock Safety agreement Tuesday, August 25, that would expand the Sheriff’s Office network of automated license plate readers from 63 cameras to 103. According to the revised county report, the additional 40 cameras would be deployed across unincorporated Monterey County. The proposed agreement would cost the county $2.781 million over nine paid years after a free first year. Images captured by the cameras would be retained for 30 days. The agenda packet does not identify where the 40 new cameras would be installed or specify how frequently system searches would be audited.
