@mathsy.io: Solving a separable differential equation 🤨 Can anybody spot how I could’ve done this quicker? #calculus #integration #differentialequations
Can anyone see a small trick I could have used to find the constant A faster without redefining the constant? 🤨

Anyone wanna adopt a starting math student, I finished taylor series and I wanna get to fourriertheory as fast as possible but without skipping steps or going over topics without knowing their full extend

dy/dx=xy
dy/dx - xy=0
let I subset R
Now, let u:I--> R a be differentiable function such that u(x)=e^(-x²/2) y(x)
because de^(-x²/2)/dy=-xe^(-x²/2)
then, by the product rule,
u'(x)=-xe^(-x²/2)y(x)+y'(x)e^(-x²/2)
factoring
u'(x)=e^(-x²/2)(-xy(x)+y'(x))=0
by MVT, u is constant forall x €i.
therefore, exists C€R such that
y(x)e^(-x²/2)=C
then
y(x)=Ce^(x²/2)
