Stand Steady There will be seasons when life tries to rush you into becoming afraid. Plans will change. People will change. Doors you expected to open will remain closed. Things you thought were certain will suddenly become questions. And in those moments, your greatest strength may not be knowing exactly what to do next. Sometimes your strength is simply refusing to be moved by every storm that passes through your life. Stand steady. Not because you aren’t afraid, but because fear doesn’t deserve to make every decision. Not because you know how everything will turn out, but because uncertainty does not automatically mean disaster. Not because nothing hurts, but because pain and destruction are not the same thing. You can hurt and still remain whole. A tree doesn’t chase the wind trying to stop it. It deepens its roots. There is wisdom in learning when to move, but there is equal wisdom in learning when not to. Not every criticism requires a response. Not every setback requires a new direction. Not every uncomfortable season means you’re on the wrong path. Sometimes the assignment is simply to remain. Keep doing the work. Keep protecting your peace. Keep becoming. Keep trusting what you’ve learned. Keep your feet beneath you when your emotions want to run ahead. And remember: steadiness is not stagnation. Roots appear motionless, yet beneath the earth they are growing, reaching, strengthening, preparing the tree to carry heights it could not otherwise survive. So when life becomes uncertain, you don’t always need to run. Sometimes you need to plant your feet, straighten your back, look directly at whatever is coming— and stand steady.
