@daisysamplingandp: I loooovvvvveee my 2007 @KitchenAid Canada @KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer, and I truly mean love 💗 It was my late Grandads and since coming to live with me has been used a lot! I’ve bought several different attachments for it (highly recommend the ice shave attachment with frozen watermelon during the summer) but never considered what was happening INside my beloved machine 🤦🏼‍♀️ Lately it’s been a little louder than normal, so I looked online and my jaw dropped. I had NO idea that the grease inside the head should be replaced every 3-5 years!! I looked up some tutorials, ordered the recommended (Food grade) grease and got to disassembling it with my hubby. I’ve never been so horrified 🙈 The grease was literally black and stuck to EVERYTHING! So if you’re going to do this be sure to have lots of paper towel, qtips, toothbrush and cardboard on hand. It took a little over an hour from beginning to end but it’s running so much quieter now. I will never leave it almost 20years again. #kitchenaid #standmixer #ididntknow #grease #kitchenaidstandmixer If your machine is within warranty obviously don't crack it open for a look see, but if it's out of warranty and you want to give it some maintenance or you can tell It's having issues (is louder, grinding, brown oil leaking on the sides/down the tool hook thing etc) then I highly recommend you look up some tutorials and give it a fresh grease.
