If it's anything like Qld, they have horrible conditions, particularly junior doctors. Want someone to be mad at? Ask hospital executives why it's acceptable to have majority junior staff tending to you in the after-hours space? Ask them if it they think its good patient care to have 1-2 doctors for 4 wards from 5pm onwards. Thats 120 patients for 1 doctor.

These comments show the clear misconception from the media's garbage fearmongering. When doctors strike, hospitals are run at weekend staffing levels, and only for a couple hours. If you think that's unsafe/problematic, then the bigger issue is the state government running hospitals at those levels normally with 12-14 hour shifts (usually without a break) at a time. Disgusting.

as a med student, i see doctors go 730 to a good maybe 5.30-6.00pm very very often without lunch break or tea break. When they're lucky, they get time to eat while typing notes and answering calls
