Before the shoot, they asked about my personal style, favorite colors, body/face preferences, the energy I wanted to give, my everyday photos + references then created an entire concept deck specifically for me. The makeup was probably one of my favorite parts. Instead of giving me typical K-beauty, Douyin makeup or a predetermined look, the makeup artist actually studied my features and created something that felt like me. Then you have the professional styling, creative direction, sets, lighting and editorial-style photography… and suddenly I understood where the premium price comes from. The whole experience felt more like creating your own fashion editorial than booking a regular portrait studio. Would I recommend spending $3,000 on a photoshoot? For most people, honestly no 😂 There are INCREDIBLE photoshoots in China for a fraction of the price. But if you’re seriously obsessed with photography, want something completely customized, and have always wanted to experience what it feels like to shoot your own fashion editorial… this is definitely a different level.
