As far as i remember, he was taken away by his maternal grandfather to give up for adoption, since his mom is unmarried. His mom didnt have a say about him being taken away from her. In this vid, her first word to him: “mom miss u”. I can see the weight of guilt in his mom eyes in the original video when they videocalled for the first time. Poor soul

I met my father for the 1st time when I was 23. He & my Momma divorced when she was pregnant w/me. My 2 older brothers knew him well but he started a new family w/ the new woman. I have a 1/2 brother & sister I've never met. His wife was very kind to me & invited me to dinner. She was making spaghetti but I declined. The meeting was HEALING for me. He passed away 2 weeks later.

29 years ago was only 1997, way past the poverty days of the war. Was having children out of wedlock that serious of a stigma?! And were times that tough for her to give him up that easily? There has to be more of a reason why he was separated from his mom.
