speaking as a network admin. you will get caught. either by the IT guy walking by and seeing the cable. doing patches and noticing a port being used when it shouldn't. seeing the network bandwidth in the red when qos should be handling it. it's not a matter of if, but when. I'm not sure what they'll do to you, but guaranteed the network guy won't be happy with you touching his shit and he'll make you pay even if the school don't.
