It also makes sense why Mikey would become The Last Ronin. To me Mikey is the most skilled because as scatterbrained as he is, being a nunchuck master has to take the most intense brain coordination.

That’s why, when people call Leonardo a brown-noser, I say they don’t understand who he is, or what it means to feel responsible for your siblings. Leonardo is like Kobe: the first one in the dojo and the last one to leave. When nobody else has a plan, Leo always has one. Always. You can’t just look at him giving orders. Leo is also the rear guard. When a building is collapsing, or the team has to retreat, he’s the one watching their backs, covering their escape, and making sure everybody gets home. In battle, Leo has to control Raph’s rage, keep Mikey focused, and stop Donatello from overthinking, so he can keep his head in the fight. And several times, Leo has taken a beating to protect his brothers. I’m the eldest brother in my family, and I worry about everybody all the time. I can only imagine how stressed Leo is carrying that responsibility every single day.

people forget that Mikey is the most emotional intelligent out of all his brothers. that's his role, the heart of the group. You got the Leader, The Brains, The Muscle, and the Heart. That's always been who Mikey was. Also it's Mikey not Mickey. There's a difference for those who don't know

Mikey being the most emotionally aware and empathetically intelligent member of the team will always make him my number one favorite. It isn’t highlighted as much in the animated series(s) compared to how it is in the comics, but I LOVE whenever it’s acknowledged through little things like that
