I rescue dogs. ❤️ I treat every dog I rescue as if it were my personal dog but seeing the first dog I rescued and adopted in Texas on his deathbed suffering on camera from miles away hit me hard. We had just experienced a hurricane and due to lost open windows as the result of lost power and AC/ uncrated dogs across Houston had gotten loose and Tux was hit by a car. 💔I was afraid I’d never get to say goodbye because I was too busy cleaning up and rescuing other dogs. Thankfully he’s ok and I’m grateful for our amazing foster that could be at the ER so I wouldn’t miss a beat at the sanctuary. Tux is still under recovery and close monitoring and I’m taking some time to decompress after already having an emotional month losing Pearl. (My first sick senior horse, and euthanasia case) I miss her so much but I’m pleased that she has gained her wings and that I could give her all the time and attention she deserves down to the end. I just hope that I can get more personal time to give that to my personal animals and family too because rescue works take up ALL of my time. 🙏🏽 I’m grateful for the relationships and relief coming my way so that I can spend more quality time with my loved ones this week. In the meantime, I just wanted to let everyone know from this post how I’m feeling and that I’m alive and ok. Just cleaning and catching up…trying to stay afloat and kick off the next fundraising campaign after a few setbacks that I’ll discuss later. I need a moment to decompress and I appreciate your support and understanding during this difficult time. ❤️🥹 Thank you! I’m opening up boxes and reading thank you notes! I love you all so much! I see every note and donation and keep ALL of the letters and notes like a hoarder. 😅😂 They make me feel better during rough patches. Ok, I’ll shut up now because I have kennels 💩 to clean before it gets dark. 🏃‍♀️ 😅🤣 #animalrescue
