I grew up in the Philippines until I was seven then moved to the US, there’s a lot of places I see myself in through photos, but I know they’re no longer there. The house I used to live in was renovated, so even if I do go back, there’s not much to see. My old school is still there, but I didn’t really have a lot of friends and didn’t feel that connected to everyone else. Plus, no pictures taken there as far as I know. I can’t differentiate the cities I frequented, my memories don’t connect anymore. There was this one shortcut I used to take on the way to the park with my nanny, we always came across a goat. There was always this plant we called “makahiya”, which means to be shy because the leaves shriveled up when something touched it. I haven’t seen one since then. The one photo I can probably recreate would be me drinking pineapple juice in front of my late great grandma’s house, but that got renovated too, so I don’t know. I just wanted to remember these things again while I could, thanks for reading if you did. I miss it a lot.

It’s crazy to me everywhere we go someone shared a past memory and it’s just stuck in the past nobody knows about it but you that’s what makes alot of memories unique and life so beautiful
