I was 17 and I told my Mom at a restaurant (actually my BF did) and she went home to tell my Dad and it seemed like 5 min and he was calling me and he said "I don't know the details, your Mom just told me and I wanted to call you immediately so that you didn't think I had to calm down or figure out how I felt - I love you and it's going to be okay and nothing will change that ever" - it was the single kindest thing anyone has ever said or done.

My daughter got pregnant at 17, the start of her senior year. We were all devastated however that baby was the biggest blessing. My daughter eventually went to nursing school and went on to be an APN. She will 38 in December. Life is not over, just delayed a little.

This is honestly such a healthy reaction. Ofc it was big and people freak out but the transition to consoling is amazing. I’m 20 and pregnant after my sophomore of college and I thought my mom would freak but she’s been wonderful.
