@techniahqrobot: Humanoid robot gymnastics is getting seriously difficult. At the World Humanoid Robot Games 2026 in Beijing, robots are no longer being judged on a single jump or isolated trick. They have to connect multiple movements into a continuous routine while maintaining balance through takeoffs, rotations, landings and transitions. That changes the challenge completely. Every landing becomes the starting position for the next movement. A small orientation error after one jump can destabilize everything that follows. This year’s gymnastics competition expanded dramatically, with 18 teams competing and a much larger catalogue of movements including flips, aerial rotations, floor transitions and complex whole-body combinations. The impressive part isn’t one spectacular move. It’s getting a humanoid robot to complete an entire sequence without falling apart halfway through.
