I had this parent last year. She complained about me to district because her son wasn’t where she believed he should be academically. He was never on time, she would drop him off right before or after lunch daily. Because “morning are hard for him.” And because he had an IEP they bent over backwards for her and of course I got the blame.

Savannah came to school 37 times this year out of 180. Of those 37…she was late 35. Of those 37 she was also never on time to a class. She was promoted to the 8th grade. Thanks NYC 👍

Had a 4th grader with 38 days absent and 60 tardies. Mom got so mad that we kept mentioning it to her and threatened to call CPS that she pulled her son out of our private school. Good luck with public school and that magistrate hearing!

I had a kid who left early twice a week, always at the same time. Then the mom wondered why he was so far behind in phonics. Because phonics is in the afternoon. He’s missed 35% of the content. She got so mad when we brought it up.

When I was an administrator and had a convo with a parent, the parent didn't like that I was holding the student accountable. The parent reaction was to call me M-FIng petty A## B++++. I owned that name!

I had a student last year who missed my first period class 42 days during the first marking period! Difficulty getting up on time was the excuse. He was a junior!
