@amourhairvideos: Muscadines are in season, so l grabbed this BIG box at the North Carolina State Farmers Market for about $40 from Johnson's produce. They grow wild all over the South..alot of folks make sweet wine with them. They were soooo so sweeet.. Also, scuppernongs are actually a type of muscadine..the bronze/golden variety. A lot of times they are sweeter, but I prefer the purples. Nutritionally, muscadines are pretty special. They're a good source of fiber, vitamin C and manganese, but what really sets them apart is their polyphenols. Their skins and especially their seeds are rich in antioxidant compounds that help protect cells from oxidative stress. Research also suggests muscadines contain more and different phenolic compounds than many common table grapes. So those seeds I used to spit across the yard? I eat the skin and seeds now. Little me was throwing away the good stuff. #muscadine #fruit #farmersmarketfinds #foraging #food
Scuppernongs are even better in my opinion but I love these too

I’ve never seen those before! Are they sweet or tart? They almost look like a cross between a black plum on the outside and the flesh of a green grape. Now I need to figure out how I can get my hands on some here in Oregon!
