Horrible process for the people doing it. The first place I worked at after university was as a chemist at a large galvanizing shop. This was fifty years ago and conditions there were far worse than the place being shown there. I didn't even have to spend too much time on the floor, but I still felt half poisoned by the end of the day. Only lasted there three months and left the day I got another job.

I did that job for five years the caustic acid that they pickled the metal before it goes into the zink and silver mixed the mask at the end of a 8 hour shift crumbles and the blood i kept coughing up i had to quit
