As an autism mom of a young adult, raising my son I had to remain vigilant. Parents have to really watch these special kids they are super smart and hardly sleep.

They need to start with them sloping from the home. Securing them better. You can't close off every body of water. Offer funding for better door security.

So sorry for the family’s. Also I’m so tired of ppl who don’t have ASD child that elopes speaking on something they have absolutely no clue on! We have not always had all of these retention pounds in residential areas. Also you all noticed where they place most retention ponds?

Anytime an autistic child goes missing, call 911 and get to nearby bodies of water ASAP. Authorities should check nearby rivers and storm drains automatically. Kids with autism are often drawn to bodies of water. It's a common pathology.
