if you compare the long term recognition of players that have one mvp but never a chip vs players who won a single chip but no mvp you simply remember the mvps more. barkley, tmac, harden, westbrook, drose. vs players like chauncey billups and jerry west. its close enough to where having an opinion on either side makes sense. Saying its dumb to have an opinion thats just outside of the norm but clearly logical is in itself a weird choice.

The ultimate goal of any sport is to win a championship. All other accomplishments should be part of the equation to get to that goal.

Some of what he said isn’t wrong but you play to win the games (Herm Edwards baby!!) you play to win championships that should be the goal every year especially when you are an elite player like KD
