Meanwhile, iHeartMedia has an unusual licensing arrangement under which advertising-related revenue from Verdict with Ted Cruz goes to Truth and Courage PAC, a super PAC dedicated to Cruz’s reelection. The PAC has received at least $1.738 million in digital revenue from iHeart since 2023. There is no evidence yet that Israeli ad dollars specifically went to Cruz’s PAC, and the FEC previously cleared Cruz in a related case. But the arrangement raises a serious question: Can foreign-government advertising on a politician’s media platform indirectly benefit a political operation through an intermediary?
