Schauen wir sachlich drauf. Was stimmt: Botox ist als reiner Wirkstoff hochgiftig — aber in der Ästhetik werden nur ein paar Nanogramm ganz lokal gespritzt, weit weg von jeder gefährlichen Dosis. Und Quarks sagt selbst: fachgerecht, vom Arzt gesetzt, ist es risikoarm. Genau das stimmt — und genau das geht im Rest des Videos unter. Die Krankenhausfälle stammen aus einem CDC-Bericht über gefälschtes Toxin, gespritzt von Laien. Mit ärztlichem Botox hat das nichts zu tun. Jetzt zur Ehrlichkeit in eigener Sache: Die „weniger Emotionen"-These beruht auf der sogenannten Facial-Feedback-Hypothese — der Idee, dass unsere Mimik unsere Gefühle mitsteuert. Diese Hypothese habe ich in früheren Videos selbst zu unkritisch dargestellt. Denn das berühmteste Experiment dazu ließ sich 2016 in 17 Laboren nicht bestätigen; eine große Studie 2022 fand nur einen kleinen Effekt. Von „Botox macht emotional stumpf" ist das weit entfernt. Mein Fazit: Der einzige wirklich belegte Satz im Video ist der langweiligste — beim qualifizierten Arzt ist Botox sicher.
