Sheikh Salam :
A brief note on the evidence related to this video:
The Qur’an connects the message of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with the messages of the earlier prophets. It also describes some People of the Scripture as recognizing the Prophet ﷺ: some believed in him, while others recognized him but did not believe.
First: Some Christians heard the Qur’an, were deeply moved, and believed
Allah says:
“When they hear what has been revealed to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of the truth they recognize. They say, ‘Our Lord, we believe, so count us among the witnesses.’”
Qur’an 5:82-83
They heard what was revealed to the Messenger, were moved to tears because of the truth they recognized, and then said:
“Our Lord, we believe.”
Second: The Qur’an says that some People of the Scripture recognized the Prophet ﷺ
Allah says:
“They recognize him as they recognize their own children.”
Qur’an 2:146
And:
“When there came to them what they recognized, they rejected it.”
Qur’an 2:89
And:
“They recognize him as they recognize their own children… yet they do not believe.”
Qur’an 6:20
The Qur’an therefore distinguishes between recognizing the Prophet ﷺ and believing in him.
Third: The Qur’an connects the Prophet ﷺ with the earlier scriptures
Allah says:
“Whom they find written with them in the Torah and the Gospel.”
Qur’an 7:157
And Jesus عليه السلام is quoted as saying:
“I give good news of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad.”
Qur’an 61:6
Fourth: The story of ʿAbdullah ibn Salam رضي الله عنه
One of the clearest examples is the story of ʿAbdullah ibn Salam رضي الله عنه, who was a Jewish scholar in Madinah.
Sahih al-Bukhari records that the Prophet ﷺ asked the Jews about him:
“What do you say about ʿAbdullah ibn Salam?”
They replied:
“He is the best of us, the son of the best of us; the most learned of us, and the son of the most learned of us.”
The Prophet ﷺ then asked:
“What would you think if ʿAbdullah ibn Salam were to embrace Islam?”
They replied:
“May Allah protect him from that!”
Then ʿAbdullah ibn Salam رضي الله عنه came out and declared:
“I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and I testif
