@vipps.kr: Family farmer > first surgeon in the family I was born the youngest of seven children in a rural town in Korea called Jindo. My family were farmers, and they hoped I would become one too, to help them. At 13, I juggled feeding my cow and studying. My cow was always the skinniest in the village, because I never made it back in time to feed him after school. Sometimes I still think of that cow. Some people might wonder why I still work so hard operating surgeries five days a week. And why I’m always eager to connect with fellow surgeons and learn from them. This is the life I’ve been longing for since I was 13. It’s a privilege. Operating a surgery isn’t just work for me. It’s a privilege. So I give back to my community. Donations. Observerships for young surgeons. An education foundation in Jindo. After all, it’s a privilege.
