no we aren't trapped we just haven't figured out how to travel for long enough and have people be alive (if we can figure out the fuel problem and how to reproduce on the way out we can but we would need a reason to other than blindly floating to oblivion

Not really. We’ve already sent spacecraft into interstellar space. Voyager 1 crossed the heliopause in 2012, and Voyager 2 did it in 2018. The real problem is that human travel to another star is insanely difficult with current technology
