@andreakristene: Ran out of coffee sweetener so… Fig leaf syrup is subtle and naturally sweet, almost like a lighter almond syrup with coconut and vanilla notes. I love adding it to coffee, iced tea, or cocktails. Fig Leaf Syrup * 1 cup water * 1 cup sugar * 4 fresh fig leaves, rinsed + lightly toasted How to: Toast the fig leaves in a dry skillet until fragrant, about 30–60 seconds per side. Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until dissolved. Add the fig leaves and gently simmer for 10–15 minutes. Turn off the heat and let everything steep for 30 minutes. Strain into a clean jar or bottle and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. The flavor is unreal… especially in coffee ☕️ #figleafsyrup #simplesyruprecipe #figtree #gardenrecipes #fromthegarden
