@goodmorningbritain: Millions of women in England who have not attended cervical screening appointments will be sent at-home testing kits for free on the NHS. The kits contain a swab, which is used to collect a sample from the vagina. This is then posted back to NHS labs for free, where it is tested for high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) #womenshealth #hpv #cancer
really surprised by all the negative comments in here, this is a good thing!!!!!

About time. It’s a fantastic idea. I personally won’t go for one because my last one left me in pain and bleeding, some nurses are not gentle or kind. I look forward to receiving mine.

But why for 30+? Why are we not including women in their 20s too?

This is really misleading, it doesn’t replace smears, this is just a test for HPV, if someone is HPV positive they would still need a smear to get cells from the cervix to see whether there has been any changes

Iv been for a smear test and the nurse couldn’t get to the cervix so I had to go bk a week later, so I’m guessing it’s not that easy to do by yourself. There gonna be a lot of false results, and women doing this instead of going to the GP as they think it’s as reliable

Put down the age, at my first smear i was found to have stage 3 CIN and had to have half my cervix removed. If they were available earlier this would have all been avoided.

But you get your first invite at 25, so why do you have to be 30 to get one of these kits? I want one. It’d be so much easier.
