When symptoms seem completely unrelated… they might not be. One of the hardest things about dysautonomia is that it can affect multiple systems in the body at the same time. ❤️ Cardiovascular: racing heart, palpitations, blood pressure fluctuations, exercise intolerance 🧠 Neurological: brain fog, dizziness, headaches, tremors, lightheadedness, fainting 🫁 Respiratory: air hunger, feeling unable to take a satisfying breath, frequent yawning 🍽️ GI: nausea, bloating, early fullness, diarrhea/constipation, trouble swallowing, and symptoms that worsen after eating 🌡️ Temperature regulation: heat intolerance, excessive sweating, chills, difficulty regulating body temperature 👁️ Vision: seeing spots, tunnel vision, blurred or dimming vision when standing ⚡ Energy: profound fatigue, weakness, post-exertional worsening 🩸 Glucose-related symptoms: shakiness, sweating, weakness or feeling “hypoglycemic,” which can overlap with autonomic symptoms And that’s the tricky part: these symptoms can look like a bunch of completely separate problems. The autonomic nervous system helps regulate heart rate, blood pressure, blood flow, digestion, breathing, temperature, sweating and more. So when that system isn’t regulating properly, symptoms can show up all over the body. That doesn’t mean every symptom is automatically dysautonomia—especially swallowing difficulty, which can have many different causes. But when seemingly unrelated symptoms repeatedly occur together, particularly around standing, heat, exertion, or meals, it can be worth asking: Could there be one underlying system connecting the dots? Sometimes the symptoms aren’t random. They’re clues 🧩❤️ #Dysautonomia #POTS #DysautonomiaAwareness #POTSawareness #InvisibleIllness
