@funsizedddbabyyy: Living in an apartment means understanding that you are going to hear OTHER PEOPLE sometimes. 😭 You may hear somebody walking, a child running for 2 seconds, a door closing, somebody getting ready for work, somebody coming home late, or—in my case—the lovely sound of floors that have been around since the 1970s. 😂 Dear downstairs neighbor, I promise you I am not upstairs training for the Olympics at 1 AM. I am not doing jumping jacks. I am not rearranging my bedroom furniture. I am not dropping bowling balls on the floor. I am literally just WALKING around my apartment and doing light cleaning. 😭 Unfortunately, these floors are older than me🤣😭possibly as old as you and they CREAK when they’re walked on. There are even areas of my bedroom floor that are uneven, so simply stepping in certain places makes noise. I cannot control that. Maintenance can inspect it, management can document it, and the cameras in my home can show exactly what I’m doing—but what I cannot do is magically stop having feet. 😂 And banging on your ceiling every time you hear me move isn’t going to make the floorboards younger. It’s not going to soundproof the building. It’s not going to make me disappear. And most importantly, it’s not going to teach me how to levitate. 😭😂 I absolutely believe in being considerate of your neighbors, especially late at night. There’s a reason I’m not vacuuming, blasting music, dragging furniture, or doing anything unnecessarily loud. But being considerate does NOT mean I have to sit completely still in the apartment that I pay rent for because someone downstairs expects complete silence. Baby, this is communal living. We share walls, ceilings, floors, and apparently these 50-something-year-old floorboards. 😭 Some reasonable everyday noise comes with the territory. So respectfully, if hearing another person WALK above you destroys your peace this badly, you may need a top-floor apartment… or perhaps ✨homeownership✨. 🏡😂 Because until Amazon puts levitation devices on Prime, I’m going to continue normally existing in my home. 😘 #ApartmentLiving #DownstairsNeighbor #NeighborProblems #ApartmentProblems #ApartmentLife

I had an upstairs neighbor that was smaller than me. I swear she healed toed it. I’d start to hear her walking above my bed at 330 in the morning. I was so glad to move.

My downstairs neighbors bangs on the wall during NON quiet hours bc my kids are playing, now I try to make them walk instead of run, but I’m like you could’ve moved to the second or third floor if you don’t want anyone staying above you.

I think most times walking isn’t the issue it’s when you have neighbors that stomp or let their kids run and jump all hours of day and night.

Why :

mine walked specifically in the bedroom. Above me, not out in the kitchen, not out in the living room. As soon as they hit that doorframe, it's boom, boom boom, boom, so tell me it's not being done purposely. Mind, you it is carpeted in the bedroom. The living room kitchen floors.. Tell me again how it's not being done on purpose.

My upstairs neighbor sounds like he’s running for his life 24 hours a day! It is absolutely ridiculous. I’m used to having neighbors, but he walks in all day and half the night. It’s ridiculous to the point where my chandelier in my living room shakes whenever he’s walking back-and-forth. One of these days he’s gonna catch me on the wrong day and he will meet me face-to-face.
